About

Lorna Bailey Ceramics is the new company from well known ceramic designer Lorna Bailey.

Famous for her bright, vivid designs, Lorna was popular during the late 1990s & 2000s with Art Deco inspired patterns and comical cats. She produced general range items but was more well known for her limited editions. With new patterns and limited editions released every month, Lorna remained prolific until she took the difficult decision to retire in 2008 at the age of 30 to spend more time with her young daughter. Her work from this period remains popular today and has appeared on many television shows over the years such as Bargain Hunt and Dickinson’s Real Deal.

During the last 13 years Lorna has had another daughter and concentrated primarily on her family, with the occasional exhibition of her paintings at a local art gallery in Stoke-on-Trent.

Now with her children both in their teens, she has decided to go back to the art form that she loves; ceramics. Although this time it’s very different as each piece is hand thrown and hand glazed by Lorna herself; there is no input from anyone else. She has kept the bright vivid colour palette which she is famous for, and applied it to this new form of making pottery. Hand throwing each piece ensures that every item is unique, making the new ceramics even more exclusive than before!

New this time around is the addition of the sale of prints of Lorna’s digital artwork. Digital drawing allows more techniques to be applied to a piece of art that would otherwise be difficult to achieve, plus prints make Lorna’s artwork more affordable for everyone.

“I’m so glad to be back doing what I love. I just hope that my loyal collectors love my new items as much as before”.
